2022-2023 Mini-Grant Award Winners

KY CEC would like to congratulate the following teachers for being awarded a $650 mini-grant:

  • Kristin Poague at Lyon County Elementary School is using her mini-grant to purchase sensory and motor skills equipment for her students with Autism.  
  • Jenny Miller Horn at Moyer Elementary in Ft. Thomas Schools is using her mini-grant to purchase reading materials for her implementation of LETRS and UFLI reading programs to improve proficiency rates for students with disabilities. 
  • Beth Jackson at Lyon County High School is using her mini-grant to purchase sensory and outdoor play equipment for her students with disabilities.  
  • Jodi Hocklander at the DePaul School is using her mini-grant to provide explicit writing interventions training for her students with learning differences.  
  • Liz McPhearson at the DePaul School is using her mini-grant to increase the use of reading fluency measures to make better instructional decisions for her students with learning differences. 
  • Sara Leonard of Lone Oak Intermediate in McCracken County Schools is using her mini-grant to incorporate sensory needs into outdoor play at recess for students with disabilities.
  • Kim Landrum at the DePaul School is using her mini-grant to use manipulatives in structured literacy and math lessons for students with learning differences.
  • Suzanne Darnell at Lyon County Middle is using her mini-grant to create a sensory/calming area for her classroom for students with disabilities.  
  • Amanda Ramos at NKCES regional program is using her mini-grant to implement a sensory integration program in her MSD Classroom. 
  • Holly White of Lyon County High School is using her mini-grant to implement a Movement and Motion program in her classroom for students with disabilities.
